Is the service confidential?

At Open House we take the confidentiality of our patients very seriously, we need certain information to provide you with the service, but in no case is it shared with third parties. We will send your sample collection kits discreetly to the address you provide. You can even ask us to send it to the UPS point of your choice.

In what situations should I perform these tests?

Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia testing should be done after any unprotected sex. Select genital swab if you have had vaginal sex, received oral sex, or been the active partner in anal sex; pharyngeal swab if you have given oral sex, rectal swab if you have been the passive partner in anal sex, or whatever combination of options fits your situation.

When can I reliably perform the tests?

You must respect the so-called window period, which is the time from the unprotected sex contact you want to monitor until the tests become fully reliable. This is 14 days for Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia.

How do I collect my samples?

Follow the step-by-step instructions contained in the kits. You will receive a urine sample kit (men) or vaginal sample kit (women) in the case of selecting a genital sample or pharyngeal and/or rectal sample kits (both sexes). They are very simple and practically painless.

When will I receive my results?

They will normally be available on our website 24-48 working hours after we receive your samples in our laboratory. It is important that you keep your result access codes contained in the kits safe.

What if I need medical treatment or advice?

After testing positive for STIs, you can purchase a remote consultation to receive treatment for some STIs by e-prescription or, if you require an injected antibiotic, you can come to our physical clinics in Madrid or Valencia.
If you have a remote consultation before doing your STI tests, there is no additional cost for prescribing treatment.
