In case of unprotected oral sex, we recommend searching for the 3 infections that you might have without symptoms: gonorrhoea, chlamydia and syphilis. We do not usually see cases of HIV of hepatitis B in oral sex and, therefore, we do not recommend checking it after this practice. These tests can be done 3 weeks after the contact and the detection rate is 99%.
This package includes:
- Blood test for syphilis in Open House or in one of our satellite laboratories all over Spain.
- Gonorrhoea and chlamydia DNA detection test by PCR method, with samples taken by yourself of the appropriate part of your body (throat or urine/vagina).
Service procedure:
- Select the part of your body for the gonorrhea and chlamydia test and the laboratory.
- Complete the purchase, then you will receive an order confirmation email with your patient identification number.
- You will also receive a second email with the test request form for the chosen laboratory and the instructions of how to self-collect your samples
- Go to the laboratory to get the blood extraction done, they provide you with the kits and an appropriate place to self-take the rest of your samples.
- The samples will be at Open House in 24-72 business hours and we will send you results by email in 90 minutes or maximum 24 hours after receiving the sample.
Important notes:
- Coming to Open House Clinic in Madrid avoids the transportation time, therefore you could get results in just 90 minutes after collecting the samples.
- If you have had syphilis in the past, we recommend you to call us first for advice as a different test is required.
- If you do not want to wait the complete window period (3 weeks) you can come after 2 weeks to do part of the tests and do the rest when the window period has gone by.
- Have you been taking antibiotics recently? It might affect the tests results, please call us to get information to know when you can do the tests.
